Chassis

OVERVIEW

The Chassis is intended as a fast mechanism to determine what a monster is capable of based on a category template. The seven chassis below are intended as a solid starting point for random monsters; any time you have a specific enemy in mind, feel free to take a Chassis and build from it rather than simply being constrained by these possibilities.

DETAILS

Chassis provide base monster types which come prebuilt with specific Tags and Abilities. Generic monsters of these types can almost use the Chassis as-is, but the Chassis can be easily customized using additional Tags to spice up an encounter or create quick variants.

ABERRATIONS

All the weird shit goes here - most of these will have some kind of mutative or singularist component to them, and more will be encountered near ancient structures and emplacements.

BEASTS

  • Generalized direction for using Gifts as a mechanism to build animals beyond the samples, from a base where Mind and Spirit are invariant and Body pool is large but divisions between str/agi/end are the breaking points (elephants are low on agi but immense at str and end, while squirrels are big agi with low str and reasonable end.)

CONSTRUCTS

  • Rigosi are divine constructs, but there are plenty of other kinds.

ELEMENTALS

FEY

HUMANOID

SERVANTS

Servants are beings whose purpose is to directly exercise the will of an Immortal. Unlike Priests, who have free will, Servants do not, and can generally be seen more as an extension of the Immortal itself than of an individually sentient being.

Valduri

Elwani

Always appearing in the shape of animals. rare encounters. more observers than intervening, though leading others to convenient destinations are a common ploy. use existing Animal stat blocks but with preternatural Gifts (always Grandmaster level) The Feralin species may be forms of Elwani who have been granted free will.

Ardusi

Rilani

Elementals of all kinds, not including Shadow or Energy. Not at all subtle, and fairly chaotic in nature, though some are more gentle and subtle than others. Some Nymphs may possibly be a form of Rilani who have been granted awareness and free will.

Pagani

Rigosi

constructs - metal, stone, glass, free-standing or incorporated into stonecarving, all are possible. rarely moving, always watching. eyes seem to follow. in very rare occasions, there may be a ‘weeping angel’ sequence, but these are for dire scenarios. Feral magic but always subtle. The player species of Syyn may be a form of Rigosi who have been granted free will.

Vrani

Torasi

Dalori

skeletal. robes for hierarchy. melee puissance, sorcery, and void attacks. collective intelligence. direct intervention. lead dalori struggles with residual personality. It’s theorized that the Revenant and possibly even the Shadow are forms of Dalori who have been granted free will, though their inherent hatred for each other calls this origin into question.
