Battlefields

Ancient battlefields are often more than just the sites of historic events. Fresh sites are commonly picked over by more than just literal vultures, as the weapons and armor of the fallen have great value. Older sites tend to be harder to find and generally less profitable, but Heroes, sung or otherwise, have been known to fall during these conflicts, and whether they’re interred with honor in barrows nearby, or left as food for the crows by the victors, the things they once treasured may sometimes still be found with their remains.

Be warned, however: the Eidolon show a keen interest in those who fell during battle. Older battlefields may not be as empty as they first seem, and barrow mounds may not be as empty as they were intended to be.

BACKSTORY

Battlefields exist from the Age of Dreams onward.

BUILDING

Fairly simple stuff really. Pick an open field, decide where a mass grave might have stood, toss in a barrow or three and you’ve got yourself a battlefield. Remote battlefields may yet have things like banners strewn around, even if the combatants are skeletal. If they’re dust, then the banners probably are too.
